The Digital Circular Inventory Tool is a core output of the REUSE2030 project<\/a><\/strong>, co-financed by the Interreg Central Europe Programme. It is designed to support mechanical companies and SMEs in Central Europe in identifying production waste and matching it with suitable circular economy solutions. Its development followed a structured, research-based approach. The tool’s foundation was laid through extensive interviews with stakeholders and mechanical companies conducted by all project partners. These insights, combined with a thorough review of current literature and case studies, enabled project partners to identify circular practices already in use and assess which solutions could be feasibly applied to specific waste streams. Each proposed solution was evaluated based on cost-effectiveness, infrastructure needs, and potential environmental and economic benefits. This ensured a high degree of practical relevance and real-world applicability.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Central Europe’s manufacturing sector consumes vast resources\u2014but only 12% are recycled. The REUSE2030 project aims to change that by making waste streams more transparent and developing new circular solutions. Focusing on the mechanical engineering sector, the project created this digital circular inventory that empowers companies to independently adopt sustainable practices. This digital tool is complemented by a newly developed Zero Carbon Toolkit<\/a><\/strong> offering tailored guidance on sustainable design and production. The Zero Carbon Toolkit helps mechanical companies assess and reduce their carbon footprint effectively. Both tools are tested in pilot companies and feed into a strategy to reduce waste and boost circularity in the manufacturing sector.
